Victim of Ajax e-scooter crash identified, name withheld

The injured male involved in the single motor vehicle collision in Ajax has been identified, police said.

However, the name of the victim, who was air lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he remains unconscious and in critical condition, was not released.

On Tuesday September 16  at approximately 3:15 p.m., members from West Division were called to a single motor vehicle collision involving an e-scooter at Kitney Drive just north of Clements Road West in Ajax.

A male was riding a Segway Ninebot Kick Scooter Max G2 northbound along the east side of the roadway when he lost control and fell, causing him to hit his head. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury as a result. He was transported to a local-area hospital in life threatening condition and then air lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he remains unconscious and in critical condition.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. This collision is still under investigation. No further details have been released.
