14-year old shooter linked to ‘numerous’ stolen cars

Durham police yesterday said a 14-year old male is facing charges following a shooting investigation which also linked him to numerous stolen vehicles.

On Friday September 12 at about 9:10 pm, members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call at a gas station in the area of Victoria Street West and Montecorte Street. A male arrived at the gas station in a sedan, exited the vehicle and fired a shot, however no one was struck, police said.

The suspect fled the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival. Investigators later determined the vehicle had been stolen from Ajax several hours prior to the incident.
