Upcoming road restrictions have been announced for the City of Oshawa, the Town of Ajax and the City of Pickering.
Durham Region is advising of upcoming lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in Oshawa from October 14 to November 14.
Northbound lane restrictions will be in place on Simcoe Street North, from Bond Street to Richmond Street, in the City of Oshawa to safely remove a water service and install new streetscaping in support of a new development.
Road Closure at Colborne Street West
The City of Oshawa announced the road closure to through traffic at Colborne Street West. No through access will be available for emergency vehicles either, it said.
The closure will be on Tuesday, September 30 from 7 am to 5 pm, between Kaiser Crescent and Centre Street North. It will open for local traffic only from Centre Street.
The road closure is need to set up crane to lift concrete floor slabs on to new apartment building at 115 Colborne Street West.
Riverside Drive Closure in Ajax
The Regional Municipality announced a road closure on Riverside Drive from Rossland Road West to Delaney Drive in the Town of Ajax. Access will still be available to Riverside Golf Club from the south.
It will take place from September 29 to October 10 to service five lots along Riverside Drive and support development. The road closure will help increase safety for road users, pedestrians and work crews.
Lane restrictions on Taunton Road in Pickering, Ajax
There are upcoming lane restrictions on Taunton Road West (Regional Road 4) in the City of Pickering and Town of Ajax from October 6 to June 2026.
Daily lane restrictions will be in place on Taunton Road West, from William Jackson Drive to Ravenscroft Road, in the City of Pickering and Town of Ajax, for the safe construction of a new watermain.
The region said unfavourable weather conditions may impact work schedules. It said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
