The councillor who said Oshawa was trying to confuse taxpayers over the proposed 2026 tax levy increase, yesterday spoke up about ‘finger-pointing’ at the city budget meeting.
“Today [November 14], city council is supposed to be meeting to hear from area residents on the proposed Oshawa budget and potential 4.68 per cent tax hike,” said Brian Nicholson, Councillor for city Ward 5 and at Durham Council.
“Instead we are subjected to self-serving, politically motivated questions and finger pointing, often regarding issues not in the budget and not in Oshawa jurisdiction,” he pointed out.
Halfway through the meeting, he wrote on social media that: “I am very disappointed so far…
“I wish to state that it is time that my colleagues listen to the residents and save the political speeches until next year,” he said.
