A convenience store robber has been taken into custody following a separate break-and-enter investigation.
On Monday, April 27, around 12:40 pm, members of East Division responded to an unknown trouble call at Mister Convenience located at 5351 Main Street in Orono in the Municipality of Clarington.
A man entered the business and picked up several bottles of liquor before attempting to leave without paying.
The suspect assaulted an employee when confronted and fled the store on foot. A second employee followed the suspect and was also assaulted before the suspect fled the area in a waiting vehicle.
Both victims suffered minor injuries, police said.
The suspect was later identified by investigators and taken into custody, following a separate break-and-enter investigation.
