Aggressive liquor thief arrested in another break-in case

A convenience store robber has been taken into custody following a separate break-and-enter investigation.

On Monday, April 27, around 12:40 pm, members of East Division responded to an unknown trouble call at Mister Convenience located at 5351 Main Street in Orono in the Municipality of Clarington.

The suspect assaulted an employee when confronted and fled the store on foot. A second employee followed the suspect and was also assaulted before the suspect fled the area in a waiting vehicle.

Both victims suffered minor injuries, police said.

The suspect was later identified by investigators and taken into custody, following a separate break-and-enter investigation.
