Alert issued over possible Canada Post service disruption

An alert has been issued over a possible Canada Post service disruption due to a potential  labour strike.

“At this time, labour negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) continue, however either party could initiate a labour disruption after providing a minimum of 72 hours notice,” said the alert from the City of Oshawa.

It pointed out that that during any labour disruption, Canada Post will not be picking up, processing or delivering any mail.

To avoid the impact of a potential Canada Post labour disruption, the city urged residents to register to receive Interim and Final tax bills through E-Billing.

“As new information becomes available, the city will share updates on any impact to services and programs through the Service Disruption newsfeed, it added.
