The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced road restrictions on Simcoe Street in Oshawa and on Rossland Road in Whitby.
It is advising residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street South (Regional Road 2) in the City of Oshawa, from today (November 8) until November 15.
These will be in place from Kawartha Avenue to Harbour Road, adare being implemented to safely construct a concrete curb and sidewalk in support of new development.
Simcoe Street North: There will also be lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in the City of Oshawa from November 19.
These will be from Parkwood Court to Hospital Court, to safely decommission a water service in support of new development.
Lane restrictions on Rossland Road East in Whitby
The Regional Municipality is also advising residents of lane restrictions on Rossland Road East (Regional Road 28) in the Town of Whitby, from November 11 to December 10.
These will take place on Eastbound lane on Rossland Road East, from Civic Centre Drive to Garden Street, to allow for the relocation of Enbridge Gas infrastructure in preparation for a pending region capital works project.
It did not specify the capital project.
The region said unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule. It also said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
