Another Durham pole suffers driver (in)attention

Durham Post has been following and is still mystified by the unexplained affinity of drivers for hydro – and other – poles in Durham.

We have documented several cases where cars have been drawn to these silent sentinels by the roadside, but have not yet understood the attraction. It appears that there are up to a dozen pole-hits every year in Durham.

The latest was reported by Elexicon Energy on Friday.

“We have a crew at Brock Road and Old Brock Road in [the] City of Pickering replacing a broken pole that was a result of a vehicle accident,” said a tweet from the utility provider.
