Another e-bike rider seriously hurt in Oshawa crash

Durham Regional Police report that a 27-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a collision involving an e-bike in Oshawa.

Officers from Central East Division responded to the crash at the intersection of Elmgrove Avenue and Cromwell Avenue on Saturday, June 28, at about 2:50 pm.

Police say the man was riding his e-bike eastbound on Elmgrove Avenue when a westbound vehicle turned left in front of him. The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the e-bike. He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Constable Hoevenaars of the Traffic Services Branch at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5227.
