Another GO passenger tests Covid-19 positive

GO Transit yesterday announced that another of its passengers has tested positive for Covid-19.

Metrolinx, the parent company, said Toronto Public Health has notified them that a person who travelled on public transit this week has tested positive.

“We understand this person travelled on a Route 27 GO bus at about 6pm between March 2-4. Our drivers are being informed now & the buses in question are being pulled out for a thorough cleaning as a precaution,” said the statement.

The bus route serves from Milton in the west to Finch Bus Terminal.

“We continue to take proactive steps to keep our customers & staff both informed & safe in response to Covid-19,” said a tweet.

“Public health maintains that transmission of Covid-19 on transit remains low & using public transit remains a safe option. Out of an abundance of caution, we’re using a long-acting antimicrobial agent on our vehicles & distributing hand sanitizer at stations & on GO buses,” another tweet added.
