Attend workshops on Oshawa Airport Plan

The City of Oshawa is hosting workshops with community members including residents, businesses and stakeholders as a follow up to the Oshawa Executive Airport Community Liaison Committee Town Hall that took place on September 24, 2019.

The virtual workshops, which were delayed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, are intended to provide opportunities for community members to discuss matters related to a number of questions raised at the Town Hall meeting before any draft Airport Business Plan is presented to the Development Services Committee, said a city announcement.

To ensure effective, focused workshops, community members are required to register in advance by visiting https://airportworkshops.eventbrite.ca and selecting one of the date options. Registration is limited to one date per community member. In the event that registration reaches capacity and you are unable to register, contact Planning Services as noted below, the announcement said.

Thetwo date and time options are as follows:

  • Tuesday, September 29; 1:00 pm. – 3:30 pm.
  • Thursday, October 1; 6:30 pm. – 9:00 pm.

The city’s top priority remains the safety and health of community members and staff. The workshops will take place with Webex meeting software and can be accessed via desktop, laptop, mobile app or phone. Login and phone details will be communicated to registered community members one week prior to the workshop via the method they used to register.

Community members who are interested but unable to attend the workshop date options, who would prefer to register via phone, or who require alternate formats or other accommodations are asked to contact Planning Services (planning@oshawa.ca; 905-436-3311).

The feedback and information collected during the workshops will be considered when developing the draft 2020-2024 Airport Business Plan, which is anticipated to be presented at a future Development Services Committee meeting.
