Bowmanville Ave, Hwy 2 crossroad closes tomorrow till June 2

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure at the intersection of Bowmanville Avenue and King Street in the community of Bowmanville, in the Municipality of Clarington.

Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) between King Street (Regional Highway 2) and Stevens Road, in Bowmanville will be closed on May 31 at 7 pm to June 2 at 5 pm. Unfavorable weather conditions may impact the work schedule, the region said.

It said the road closure is part of the Bowmanville Avenue widening and reconstruction project. Emergency access will be maintained during the closure, and detour routes will be posted in advance.

Upcoming road closure on Marnie Drive

The regional municipality also announced an upcoming road closure on Marnie Drive in the Municipality of Clarington’s community of Courtice.

It will be from June 3 to August 2, from Baseline Road to Cigas Road to safely install a new watermain.

Upcoming lane restrictions on Liverpool Road North

There are upcoming lane restrictions on Liverpool Road (Regional Road 29), in the City of Pickering from June 3 to June 17.

These are from the 401 off ramp (Walnut Lane extension) to 100 metres north of Pickering Parkway, in Pickering. Liverpool southbound lanes will be affected as well as the intersection of Pickering Parkway and Liverpool Road. One southbound lane and two northbound lanes will remain open on Liverpool Road.

The restriction is to safely complete watermain work to support new development.

Lane restrictions on Champlain Avenue

There will also be lane restrictions on Champlain Avenue (Regional Road 25A) in the Town of Whitby from June 3 to July 19.

Lane restrictions will be in place on Champlain Avenue, from 780 metres west Thornton Road South (Regional Road 52) to one kilometre west of Thornton Road South, for the safe installation of a storm sewer to support new development.
