Bowmanville Rotary Park bridge deck to be replaced

Starting the week of August 15, crews will begin to work on the Rotary Park Pedestrian Bridge Deck Replacement in Bowmanville.

Pedestrian access to the Bowmanville Valley Trail system from Rotary Park will be closed for the duration of construction, said a Clarington statement.

It said notices, signage and barrier fencing will be erected before the trail closure to ensure public safety.

Residents can still access the Bowmanville Valley Trail from Roenigk Drive, Nelson Street, Spry Avenue and Baseline Road, as shown on the attached map.

The municipality anticipated that construction works will take approximately two weeks to complete.

Work includes the replacement of a wooden handrail on the stairs leading from Rotary Park into the Bowmanville Creek Valley and replacing the wood floor decking on the pedestrian bridge across Bowmanville Creek.

Clarington apologized for any inconvenience during construction and thanked users for their patience.
