Brock, Scugog, Uxbridge to be part of covid study

Residents of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge are being asked to share their experience throughout the Covid-19 pandemic as part of a research project being led by the University of Guelph, in partnership with the Region of Durham and Community Development Council Durham.

Residents living in rural areas face different challenges throughout the pandemic; from access to services, food and prescription delivery to the mental health impacts of isolation, we want to hear from you about what local services could be improved to support you better.

Data collected through the survey may inform future policies, programs and services in rural areas of Durham, said a region’s statement.

All households in the townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge will receive a survey in the mail. They are encouraged to complete it, and send it back in the pre-paid envelope provided. Residents can also complete the survey online.

This research project is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, through the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance. The lead researcher is Leith Deacon, PhD, Associate Professor, School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, University of Guelph.
