Car driver charged after hitting e-bike rider

On Tuesday, August 15, at 12:09 am, members of Central West Division responded to a serious collision between a Honda Civic and an E-Bike at Dundas St. and Jeffrey St. in Whitby.

The E-Bike operator suffered non-life threatening injuries but was taken to a trauma center for precautionary measures.

The 41-year-old male driver of the Civic was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

A similar incident occurred the day before;

On Saturday, August 14 at noon, members of Central West Division responded to a serious collision between a motorcycle and vehicle at Garden St and Dundas St in Whitby.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit attended to assist with the investigation.

The 36-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.
