Chalk Lake Springs closed for Lake Ridge Road upgrade

The Chalk Lake Springs are temporarily close, according to the Regional Municipality of Durham.

Chalk Lake Springs are located on Lake Ridge Road in the Township of Uxbridge.

Access to the springs is expected to reopen towards the end of July once construction is substantially completed in the area of Chalk Lake Road.

The region, in co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge, is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23). The Chalk Lake Springs are temporarily closed during this construction for public safety.

The region said it realizes that this temporary closure of the springs is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible.
