Man attacked with machete in broad daylight

Durham Police yesterday said a 49-year-old male is recovering after being attacked with a machete in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, June 7 at about 3:05 pm, members from Central East Division attended the area of Bond Street East and Simcoe Street North for reports of a stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene and located a male suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds.  He was transported to a local-area hospital, said a police statement.

The suspect fled to a nearby apartment after the incident.  Officers contained the unit and were able to arrest the suspect without incident, it added.

The 44-year old suspect of Oshawa was charged. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
