Want to lease and operate Oshawa Airport Golf Course?

The City of Oshawa yesterday said it is looking for a qualified team to lease and operate the Oshawa Airport Golf Course as a public golf course.

Situated around a valley and a stream, the Oshawa Airport Golf Course is an 18-hole executive course with an earned reputation for its undulating greens, considered some of the best in the area, says a city statement.

Nestled among seven par 4s are some of the most challenging par 3s in Ontario, even to the scratch golfer. Elevation changes are encountered frequently throughout the course, and many trees, numerous sand traps and water provide a good variety of hazards, which make for an interesting round of golf where you will probably use every club in your bag, it said.

The Location

The Oshawa Airport Golf Course is situated in proximity to Oshawa’s northern urban area, which offers a connected transportation network including the Highway 407 East corridor as well as close proximity to Highway 401. Designated as a future growth area, Oshawa is developing a number of new neighbourhoods in the north, including Columbus Part II Plan and Kedron Part II Plan, which are expected to bring as many as 50,000 new residents to the city, the statement said.

The golf course, clubhouse and adjacent parking facilities are located on Thornton Road North, south of Taunton Road. Situated near the Oshawa Executive Airport, parkland and trails and the future Rose Valley Community Park, Oshawa Airport Golf Course offers an opportunity to be part of Oshawa’s rich recreational experience and exceptional quality of life, it added.
