Chase across Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa yields handgun

Durham Police officers seized a handgun and arrested two occupants who fled from a vehicle in Pickering.

On Tuesday, September 6 at about 12:20 am, members of Central West Division observed a suspicious vehicle near a car dealership on Consumers Road in Whitby. The vehicle fled from police and headed westbound on Hwy 401. The same vehicle was later observed by West Division officers in the area of Brock Road in Pickering, said a police report.

The vehicle was stopped by police and the occupants fled on foot. They were arrested after a short foot pursuit and with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, a loaded handgun was located nearby.
