Closure on Townline Road in Oshawa/Clarington today

The Durham Region has issued  a notice of road closure on Townline Road North in the City of Oshawa and the Municipality of Clarington.

When: December 13 to Spring 2022. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Townline Road North, from north of Taunton Road East (Regional Road 4) to Coldstream Drive, in Oshawa/Clarington.

Why: To complete construction and installation of sanitary sewers and watermains.

Parking: Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible. Notification will be given to residents if vehicles need to be moved out of the driveway. If residents are unable to access their driveway due to this work, a permit is required to park on the street. To obtain a permit, go to oshawa.ca/parkingpermit  or call 905-436-3311. Applicants will be required to provide contract number D2020-32. This permit is free of charge and exempts vehicles from the three-hour on-street parking by-law only. All other parking restrictions still apply, said a municipal statement.

The previous road closure on Townline Road North, between Beatrice Street East and Taunton Road East, will be open to traffic by the end of the day on December 13. In Spring 2022, a closure of the Townline Road North and Taunton Road East intersection will be required, and further details will be provided in advance.

Businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction. Durham Region offers a helpful overview of what businesses can expect during construction, including tips on how to minimize the inconvenience on their business, at durham.ca/OpenForBusiness.
