GO train track work ends, trips back to normal

Metrolinx, the operator of GO Transit, has just announced that all track work on the Lakeshore East line is now complete. “Trains will run as scheduled.”

Very early this morning, Metrolinx had said that some trips on the Lakeshore East may be cancelled due to ongoing works.

“As a result of ongoing track work on the Lakeshore East and Stouffville Lines, there will be some trip cancellations that may affect your morning commute,” said a notice.

It advised customers to check the GO Transit Service Updates page for more details, and to sign up for On the GO Alerts to receive real-time updates.

There was no train service over the weekend between Pickering and Union station. Trains rans only etween Oshawa and Pickering, due to the ongoing track works (see below).
