3D printed firearm parts, replica handgun seized after threat

Two males have been charged after pointing a firearm at victims in Whitby on Tuesday, March 18, reported DRPS.

The victims were inside a residence in the area of Applewood Crescent and Applewood Avenue, when one of the suspects pointed a firearm at them. The victims left the residence and were followed by the suspects in a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle. The occupants were detained and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a replica handgun and multiple 3D printed firearm pieces.

Central West Division said they had responded to an armed person call at about 2:50 am.

After further investigation by members of Central West Criminal Investigations Branch and the Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit, Criminal Code search warrants were executed at residences in Whitby and Scarborough. Multiple 3D printed firearm handgun frames, replica firearms and magazines were seized, in addition to a 3D printer and computer.

A 23-year-old male from Scarborough and a 17-year-old male from Whitby were both charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
