Construction to finally get started on dog park in Beaverton

The Township of Brock will begin construction on the long-anticipated Mill Gate Dog Park in Beaverton from Monday August 24th.

Fencing and posts will be installed and work is anticipated to be completed by the end of August.

Mill Gate Dog Park features include

  • Double capture gates at entrances
  • Approximately 26,650 sq. ft. fenced area for large dogs
  • Approximately 2,600 sq. ft. fenced area for small dogs
  • Benches, picnic tables, and waste receptacles will be added after completion

Earlier in the year, Brock township staff recommended that council defer the Beaverton Dog Park capital project to the 2027 budget in order to include additional funding.

However, council has proceeded with building the Beaverton Dog Park this year. The shortfall is being funded from the Tax Rate Stabilization Reserve.

The shortfall in the current year’s budget is $8,241.75 plus HST to complete the dog park.

Brock Township said that they “appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as work progresses on this important project.”

Please use caution when utilizing the park area while work is underway.
