Copper stolen from AC units in at least 22 Oshawa incidents

Durham Regional Police are warning residents and business owners about a growing trend of copper thefts in downtown Oshawa and nearby neighbourhoods.

According to police, both residential and commercial properties have been targeted, with thieves stealing copper piping and wiring from air conditioning and heat pump units. Since the beginning of the year, officers have received 22 reports of such incidents in Oshawa.

Police are urging anyone who notices suspicious activity near air conditioning units to contact them immediately.
