Covid Update: Just a dozen new cases in Durham

Durham Health yesterday posted just 12 new Covid-19 cases for June 7, taking the region’s tally to 24,913 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 367, with 218 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries to date stand at 24,237. However, there are 306 active covid cases. Thirty-six cases are hospitalized with 12 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 270 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax, where the infections are inching up to 7,000.

Covid Deaths: 370

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 65 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 58 reported deaths in Whitby, 30 in LTC
Of the 62 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTC
22 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
