Covid Update: Two new deaths in long term care homes

Durham Health yesterday posted 26 new Covid-19 cases for September 20, taking the region’s tally to 26,771 since the count began on February 29, 2020.

Durham’s overall death toll stands at 384, with 226 of them occurring in LTCs.

Recoveries stand at 26,211. However, there are 176 active covid cases. One person is hospitalized in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 175 people are in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of covid cases so far in Ajax.

There were:

  • Eight new cases in Pickering
  • Five in Ajax
  • Five in Whitby
  • Five in Oshawa, and
  • Three in Clarington

Covid Deaths: 384

Of the 117 reported deaths in Pickering, 87 were in LTC
Of the 68 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTC
Of the 60 reported deaths in Whitby, 31 in LTC
Of the 70 reported deaths in Oshawa, 41 were in LTC
23 deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTC]
26 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTC
17 deaths have been reported in Scugog, 14 in LTC
3 deaths have been reported in Brock
