A two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 eastbound at Whites Road in Pickering caused lane closures and traffic delays yesterday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
The crash, which occurred around 10:50 am, involved a tractor trailer and a pickup truck hauling a camper trailer. One of the drivers sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No one was taken to hospital.
Following the collision, two express lanes initially remained open, but they were later closed to allow for cleanup. Lane 1 of the collectors was also closed after a concrete wall was damaged in the crash.
By early afternoon, police confirmed that the eastbound express lanes at Whites Road were fully closed, with all vehicles diverted into the collector lanes at Meadowvale Road. Lane 1 of the collectors was eventually reopened after the concrete was removed.
