Durham passerby stab suspect held in Toronto for murder

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) yesterday said it has arrested a suspect for murder. The person is also wanted in Durham on an assault charge.

On Tuesday, June 17 at 11:03 pm, police responded to a Stabbing call in the Danforth Avenue and Coxwell Avenue area in Toronto.

It is alleged that an altercation occurred between two males behind a plaza. A 35-year old man was located who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased. A male suspect wearing dark clothing was seen fleeing the area.

On Sunday, June 22, the suspect was located in the area of Falls Avenue and Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls and was arrested by officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service.

He is charged with First Degree Murder.

Durham Warrant

An arrest warrant had been issued for a 24-year-old male in connection to an assault on Sunday, June 1 at about 10:30 pm, when members of Central West Division responded to the area of Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive for an armed person.

The suspect approached two people walking in the opposite direction when he pulled a knife out and tried to stab one of them. No physical injuries were reported, Durham Police said.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival but has since been identified.

Anyone who saw this male or knew his whereabouts, was urged to call police and not to approach.
