Domestic dispute leads to gun, ammo and drugs

Durham Police officers investigating a domestic dispute in Oshawa arrested a male and seized a firearm and drugs.

On February 2, the female victim attended the front desk at Central East Division to report a domestic assault involving her boyfriend. Investigators from the Domestic Violence Investigations Unit led this investigation with the assistance of the officers from Central East Division, Offender Management Unit, Tactical Support Unit and West Division, said a police statement.

On February 4, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence in Oshawa. During the search, investigators seized a loaded firearm, ammunition and drugs (cocaine and fentanyl).

The 29-year-old man from Oshawa is facing 43 firearm and drug-related charges, including: Assault; Assault Cause Bodily Harm; Forcible Confinement; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm; Careless Storage of Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Device; Unauthorized Possession; Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm; Possession of Schedule I Substance; Fail to Comply with Recognizance x3 and Fail to Comply with Probation x4.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Suspect punches officer in face before fleeing on foot

Investigators from the Central East Division Community Response Team seized a loaded firearm during a drug investigation in Oshawa Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday, February 5, at around 1:30 pm, members of the Central East Division Community Response Team attempted to arrest a suspect on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa as part of an ongoing drug investigation. The suspect punched an officer in the face before fleeing on foot. The suspect was eventually arrested on Celina Street in Oshawa after a brief foot pursuit. Police seized a loaded firearm and a quantity of cash during the arrest.

Jennoi Mullings, age 34, of No Fixed Address is facing ten criminal charges including: Assault Police; Carry Concealed Weapon; Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition; Obstruct Police and Weapons Dangerous. He was held for a bail hearing.
