One covid death, 57 new cases, 131 recoveries

Durham Health yesterday added one new non-long term care (LTC) facility Covid-19 death in Pickering, taking the overall death toll to 283. Of these 215 have taken place at LTCs.

Durham Health also posted 57 new Covid-19 cases for January 30, taking the region’s tally to 10,705 since the count began on February 29.

There were:

  • 14 new cases in Pickering
  • 25 new cases in Ajax
  • 11 in Whitby
  • 3 in Oshawa
  • 4 in Clarington
  • 3 in Uxbridge

Recoveries stand at 9,969, up by 131. There are 453 active covid cases.

Thirty-two cases are hospitalized with 14 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 421 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 3,136 in Ajax.

Death Toll: Total – 283              LTCH – 215

Of the 97 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 48 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTCH
Forty-three deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTCH
Of the 46 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTCH
Eleven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
Fourteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 12 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Brock
