Durham police yesterday said a 64-year-old male has been arrested in relation to the murder investigation in Newcastle.
The female victim has been identified as Marilyn Stevens, age 62 of Newcastle. The suspect, her husband, has been charged with First Degree Murder. Name is available at www.drps.ca.
The suspect has been held for a bail hearing, police said.
On Tuesday, September 16 at about 9:10 am, members of East Division responded to an unknown trouble call at a residence in the area of Farrow Avenue and Highway 2. Officers located a female with obvious signs of trauma, who was pronounced deceased.
