More than $22,000 worth of electronics were stolen by an ex-employee of a Pickering business.
An ex-employee of a financial business is facing charges after breaking into the office and stealing over $22,000 in electronics on multiple occasions, police said.
In June, members of West Division responded to a break-and-enter call at a financial business in the area of Liverpool Road and Pickering Parkway.
Staff at the business received notifications that an ex-employee was using a stolen key fob to access the business office.
Further investigation revealed that between April and May, the suspect had used the stolen key fob to access the office multiple times to steal over $22,000 in electronics.
On Friday, July 3, investigators from the West Crime Team, with the assistance of the Community Resource Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in Oshawa. The suspect was located near the residence and taken into custody without incident.
The 35-year old man from Oshawa was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
