Firefighters save dog from freezing fast-flowing creek

According to a social media post from the City of Pickering, its fire services saved a dog after it freed off its leash and entered the cold, fast-moving waters at Petticoat Creek Conservation Area on Thursday.

It was stated that Pickering Fire Services mobilized quickly and located the dog in the middle of the creek. Using careful and coordinated efforts, the team retrieved the animal safely and reunited it with its owner, the city said.

The City of Pickering expressed appreciation for the prompt actions of its fire services, noting their role in keeping both people and pets safe in the community.
