Oshawa Power said it will build an operations centre, improve use of energy and grid tools, and continue to make reliability a priority.
The company stated that it will focus on keeping costs reasonable for customers while meeting the needs of the community, while announcing its 2026 to 2030 Strategic Plan and Business Plan. It did not define ‘reasonable’.
It outline how the local electricity provider will continue to deliver electricity during a time of major change in the energy sector.
According to the company statement, the plans focus on staying efficient and resilient as Oshawa continues to grow. They also outline how Oshawa Power plans to invest in technology, grid upgrades, and customer service resources to meet future energy and customer needs.
“These plans reflect who we are and where we’re going,” said Daniel Arbour, President and CEO of Oshawa Power. “We’re focused on helping our customers thrive through the accelerating energy transition by staying ahead of change, pursuing innovative solutions, improving service, and making smart decisions for the future.”
The plans focus on four main goals:
- Customer Focus: Improving service, communication, and support for all customers.
- Operational Effectiveness: Upgrading systems and retaining talent.
- Public Policy Responsiveness: Flexible planning and use of new technology to adapt to changes in policy.
- Financial Performance: Spending and long-term investment.
