A Whitby man previously wanted in connection with two separate sexual assault incidents has been arrested, according to DRPS (see below).
On April 2, members of Central East Division took a 35-year-old male into custody without incident. The arrest follows a warrant issued by police for two alleged assaults that occurred earlier this year.
According to investigators, the first incident took place in January when the suspect was visiting friends in Clarington and allegedly touched a nine-year-old child inappropriately. In February, police say the suspect sexually assaulted an adult victim at a residence in Whitby. The victim reportedly woke up to the assault, after which the suspect took her to his vehicle and continued the assault.
A 35-year-old male from Whitby was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Police remain concerned there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting D/Cst. Fitzgerald of the Special Victims Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5316 or D/Cst. Robinson at ext. 1827.
