Fleet-of-foot narcotics robber held for Pickering, Whitby hits

A 47-year-old male has been arrested in connection with two robberies from January, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

On January 23 at about 4:45 pm, members of West Division responded to a robbery at the Blue Skies Guardian Pharmacy on Kingston Road, Pickering. The lone suspect entered the store and demanded narcotics. The suspect fled on foot with a quantity of products.

On January 25 at around 2:35 pm, members from Central West Division attended a pharmacy located at 65 Baldwin Street North, Whitby. The lone male suspect entered the store and demanded narcotics and opioids while brandishing a knife. The suspect fled westbound on foot with a quantity of products.

In both incidents, there were no physical injuries reported, police said.

Investigators have made an arrest in connection to the two robberies.
