Four unicyclists charged with trespassing… in forest

Notices are posted to be read, for you never know what is permitted and what is not, just as four outdoor enthusiasts found out last week.

It is beautiful weather and Durham offers many opportunities to be out in the open. Tempted by the balmy sunshine, four people decided to have a day out in the Durham Regional Forest in Uxbridge.

Only problem was stalwarts of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) did not take lightly to the violation of rules.

Officers from DRPS North Durham Traffic charged these four (image above) for trespassing as they were riding motorized unicycles, which are not permitted in the area.

They were charged with engaging in prohibited activity on premise.

“Unauthorized motor vehicles are not permitted in Durham Regional Forest. Please follow the Durham Regional Forest rules,” said the police.
