Gang of four wanted for at least 20 break-and-enters

Durham police are searching for four suspects who are part of an organized group responsible for at least 20 break-and-enters across Whitby.

Between November last year and February, members of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch began an investigation into four suspects who committed multiple break-and-enters.

As a result, investigators launched Project Sonoma to target this small organized crime group. The suspects would enter homes by smashing the rear sliding glass doors and target the home’s master bedroom for high-value items.

The suspects are also facing charges from several other police services. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Investigators are urging the suspects to contact counsel and turn themselves in to police. Anyone who is found to be assisting these suspects to evade police is guilty of an offense under the Criminal Code of Canada and will be prosecuted to the full extent.

Anyone with cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this or similar incidents is asked to contact Det. Eid of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1832.

Editor’s Note: Durham Post does not name the accused parties as:
1. Of this time, they are suspect[s] and not convicted by a court, and
2. Sometimes charges are amended or dropped.
