Global logistics firm Geodis comes to Oshawa

Oshawa announced that Geodis, a global transport and logistics provider, has opened its latest warehouse operation in a new industrial building at 883 Thornton Road South in Oshawa.

Geodis provides logistics solutions featuring five lines of business (Supply Chain Optimization, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, Distribution & Express and Road Transport). It has a direct presence in 67 countries with a global network spanning nearly 170 countries.

In 2018, Panattoni Canada acquired 11 hectares (27 acres) of land at the corner of Thornton Road and Wentworth Street to develop two industrial buildings totaling 58,646 sqm (631,000 sqft) nearing completion. With the Geodis announcement, Panattoni’s brand-new 877 sqm industrial building is now fully leased.

Location highlights:

  • A highly accessible site, the property is strategically located 2.35 km from Highway 401;
  • Provides for efficient transportation routes to the GTA and Montreal markets and access to a variety of amenities across Durham Region; and
  • Public transit via Durham Region Transit is available minutes from the site and provides direct access to the Oshawa GO station and to the Oshawa Centre Terminal, a major transit hub connecting Oshawa to the Region of Durham.
