Have a laugh and ‘Walk a Mile’ in her shoes for charity [vid]

Bethesda House is organizing a ‘Walk a Mile’ charity event that will be held in Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.

The event is being held on Saturday, June 13th from 10 am – 12 pm at the Rotary Park in Bowmanville.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said it would like to see you at the event, and on their X account, have shared a short video of a male officer walking in red heels saying: “Let’s go for a walk, have some laughs and raise some money for a great cause!”

Bethesda House is a multi-service agency that provides shelter to women, youth, and children living with gender-based violence and abuse in Durham Region. It also provides community outreach services as well in partnership with the community of Durham.

‘Walk a Mile’ is a fundraising event in support of women and children impacted by gender-based violence. Whether you walk in honour of someone you love, in support of survivors, or simply because you believe in change, your participation makes a real difference, said a statement.

Funds raised will help provide safe shelter, essential services, trauma-informed care, and critical support programs for women and children on their journey to healing.
