The height of a three-tower residential-and-commercial complex proposed to be built on Bowmanville Avenue (Highway 57), has been increased since the project was first announced in February this year.
The height of the tallest tower in the complex located Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington, will now be 14 storeys, according to the latest municipal notice on the project.
The original announcement (see below) mentioned the height of the tallest tower at 12 storeys. The number of homes in the mixed-use project have changed from the original 446 units to 448 homes.
The complex is proposed to be built on lands at 1525-1585 Bowmanville Avenue (see map below).
The revised application was submitted by GHD on behalf of Your Home Developments (Bowmanville) Inc.
The proposal seeks to permit the development of 448 dwelling units in the form of:
- One 14-storey apartment building
- One 10-storey apartment building (same as originally announced)
- Two 4-storey townhouse buildings (same as originally announced)
Previously, in August 2022, a 25-storey twin tower project was proposed to be built around the same area by Sunray Group (see below).
A statutory public meeting for proposed development has been held, and now the municipality is seeking a second public meet before making a decision on the application for a zoning by-law amendment and proposed draft of subdivision.
Those interested can join online or in person on Monday, October 21, at 6:30 pm at the Municipal Administrative Centre on 40 Temperance Street in Bowmanville.
