Homeowners flee as armed men break though front door

Durham police said three males are in custody after an armed home invasion in Beaverton in the Township of Brock.

On Tuesday, March 31, around 4:30 am, members of North Division responded to an armed person call at a residence in the area of Highland Crescent and Centre Street.

Residents of the home contacted police after seeing a male outside their front door with a firearm. The residents fled the home as two suspects broke through the front door, police said.

The suspects subsequently left the residence and attempted to flee in a vehicle being driven by a third suspect. Officers arrived on scene and conducted a high-risk takedown of the suspect vehicle, successfully arresting all three suspects without incident.

A search of the vehicle located a sawed-off shotgun and an imitation firearm.

The suspects, a 37-year old man from Washago, A 42-year old man Oro-Medonte and a 43-year old from Scugog were all held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
