Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has released images of the transport truck crash in Whitby which had resulted in the closure of westbound lanes of Highway 401.
“Highway 401 westbound at Brock Street in Whitby is closed following a collision involving a transport truck with a ruptured diesel tank,” said an alert from OPP Highway Safety Division.
At the time, it said cleanup efforts were underway and that motorists could re-enter the highway using the Brock Street westbound on-ramp.
Later, it announced that the two right lanes had re-opened.
Oshawa Road Closure
Durham Regional Police yesterday said Grandview Street North was closed in both directions from Beatrice Street East to Rathburn Street for a residential fire.
It did not give further details.
