DRPS Traffic Services has come across several innovative explanations and excuses when drivers have been caught for violating traffic rules, such as ‘I was speeding as I have to go to the washroom urgently’.
But rarely do our officers-in-blue come across arrogance and truculence on the roads.
But, as they say, there is always a first time – and it happened on Wednesday night.
“Last night was interesting,” said traffic police after one person was stopped for not slowing or changing lanes for officers.
Their excuse: “I never change lanes for police”.
This was not the only incident.
Another driver was stopped for an expired permit.
“I dare you to give me a ticket for it,” the motorist challenged the officer.
It was not mentioned where the above incidents took place.
Boxed-in stunt driver
DRPS Traffic Services also reported how a stunt driver was boxed in by police.
The driver of this Corvette (top image) decided, at minimum, to conduct stunts in the parking lot of Canada’s Wonderland while Air2 monitored, said the officer.
Once enough police where on scene, the motor vehicle was boxed-in and the driver arrested, police said.
“Men in blue”… No women in blue? I think this is an outdated term.
Apologies, you are right of course. The phrase has since been changed. Thanks.
