The Regional Municipality of Durham has hired Dufferin Construction to reconstruct and rehabilitate Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23).
This work will happen from 200 metres north of Ravenshoe Road to 75 metres south of Concession Road 7 in the townships of Brock and Uxbridge.
No Work from December To May
Dufferin Construction will be on site the week of October 5, to start preparing for the work. The construction is expected to finish by July 31, 2027, depending on weather conditions, the region said.
It said ditching and culvert replacement work will take place in the fall. Road building activities including pulverization and placement of new asphalt will take place in the spring. Construction activities will shut down during the winter period from December 1, 2026 to May 1, 2027.
The works will include:
- Pulverizing the existing asphalt road
- Placement of new granular material and asphalt over the pulverized road
- Replacing culverts and improving drainage ditches
- Installing new street lighting
Traffic Impacts
Daily lane restrictions will be required for the duration of the project to complete the work safely and efficiently.
Drivers should expect delays and plan for extra time when using Lake Ridge Road, the region said.
It said the equipment used for construction might make noise and cause ground vibrations. Anyone living or working nearby may notice this.
