Lakeshore East major rail track closure till Sunday

Starting late-evening Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6 there will be no GO train service on the Lakeshore East line, Metrolinx announced.

The GO Transit operator said all rail replacement bus trips will operate between Durham College Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, and Pickering GO, running express to Union Station Bus Terminal. Buses will not operate at Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough, or Danforth GO.

It said starting late-evening Friday until Sunday, construction work will take place along the Lakeshore East line.

“Track switch replacement work will take place between Danforth GO and Union Station. There will also be repair work taking place on the Birchmount Bridge. Additionally, track work will take place along the line for the new East Harbour GO station and Ontario line.”
