Lane restrictions and road closures in Oshawa, Clarington

The Regional Municipality of Durham and the City of Oshawa have advised residents of lane restrictions in Clarington and in parts of Oshawa.

There will be lane restrictions on King Street and an upcoming road closure of Kings Hill Lane in the Municipality of Clarington’s community of Bowmanville.

Where: King Street east of Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) and Kings Hill Lane at Waverley Road in Bowmanville.

The regional municipality did not say when the restrictions would come into effect, but said traffic has been reduced to one lane in the east bound direction on King Street east of Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57) until mid-March.

It said Kings Hill Lane will be closed from February 20 until mid-March.

The lane restrictions and road closure is part of the Bowmanville Avenue widening and construction work. Learn more at durham.ca/BowmanvilleAveConstruction.

Local traffic and emergency services will be required to use the signed detour routes.

Businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction.

Lane restrictions in Newcastle

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on North Street (Regional Road 17) in the community of Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington.

When: February 20 to May 31.

Where: North Street, from 50 metres north of the CPR Grade Separation to Monroe Street West.

Why: For road reconstruction work.

Ongoing Oshawa Roadworks

There is ongoing road closure on Harmony Road North (Regional Road 33) in the City of Oshawa until February 17.

Where: Harmony Road North, from Winchester Road East to Conlin Road East.

Why: Sanitary sewer installation to support new development.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

Conlin Road closure

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with the City of Oshawa, is advising residents of lane restrictions and a road closure on Conlin Road in the City of Oshawa.

When and where: Conlin Road will be closed to through traffic in stages during the 2023 construction season to complete the work. Access for local traffic and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Stage 1: Conlin Road from east of Thornton Road to west of Stevenson Road North, in the City of Oshawa will be closed to through traffic beginning February 6 until August 1, 2023.

Stage 2: Conlin Road from Garrard Road to Stevenson Road North and the intersection of Thornton Road North and Conlin Road will be closed to through traffic this spring until fall 2023.

Why: To safely install a new feedermain, watermain, sanitary and storm sewer, and to facilitate road reconstruction.

Additional details including timing about future closures and lane restrictions will be provided in advance.

Keith Ross Drive

Oshawa said Keith Ross Drive is closed to through traffic, and no through access is available for emergency vehicles. Road closure and detour signs are posted in accordance with provincial standards.

Where: between Taunton Road West and Airport Boulevard.

When: Until March 10, 2023.

Why: to install service connections.
