Last day to attend Regional FireFit Championships

More than 300 first responders are competing in the City of Oshawa for the 2024 Eastern Ontario Regional FireFit Championships.

The event was scheduled to begin on August 9 and to end today (August 11) at Delpark Homes Centre.

This competition provides community members a front-row seat as teams and individual firefighters from all over Ontario go head-to-head on tasks based on real-life emergencies, said a city statement.

This is the sixth year Oshawa has hosted a FireFit event.

Returning this year is the Kids Interactive FireFit Zone, which features the world-famous kids course, RS Rescue Extrication Zone, demos, fire prevention, and more.

The playgrounds, water parks and library branch at Delpark Homes Centre is available for public use throughout the event. Souvenir items will be available for purchase, as well as various vendors, food trucks, fire safety information, displays, and more.

For more information on the event, visit Facebook/oshawafirefit or Oshawa Fire Fit Instagram account.
