Lisa Weiss named Community Legend for 55 years of service

The City of Oshawa has announced Lisa Weiss as the 2025 recipient of its Community Legend Award, recognizing her more than 55 years of volunteer service.

Oshawa city council acknowledged Weiss for her contributions to the community’s cultural life. Throughout her decades of involvement, Weiss has played a role in strengthening Oshawa’s arts, heritage, and music scenes through volunteering, advocacy, fundraising, and community-building efforts.

According to Oshawa, the Community Legend Award celebrates individuals and organizations whose everyday actions have a positive and lasting impact on the city. Weiss’s dedication to connecting people and promoting cultural development exemplifies the spirit of this honour.
