Man held, woman freed after human trafficking charges

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPD) yesterday announced they have arrested and charged a male and female after executing a search warrant in Toronto.

On Thursday April 27, members of the DRPS Human Trafficking Unit, supported by the DRPS Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant on Thomas Riley Road in Toronto in relation to an ongoing human trafficking investigation, said a police statement.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims in relation to the suspects and are asking anyone with information, or anyone who has been victimized by either party to contact the Human Trafficking Unit.

The male accused was held for a bail hearing, while the female was released on an undertaking.
